Happy Friday. Let’s do this!

In My Humble Opinion

$1,000 is not enough for an emergency savings fund.

You barely need to wade into the waters of personal finance before coming across the advice to have $1,000 in your emergency savings fund, if you’re paying off debt.

It was wisdom so pervasive that I myself included it in my first book, Broke Millennial: Stop Scraping By and Get Your Financial Life Together.

Alas, you can’t update a printed book as easily as a blog post or Instagram caption. Even before the pandemic, my opinion had radically shifted on this topic.
